Today I bought a plane ticket to San Francisco. I had been planning to ride a tour in a loop, but I was told by experienced tourists "Hey, wouldn't you like to enjoy your ride?" So that's the plan now and here is the general overview...
It still has plenty of mileage and since it's a 'get home' trip, I've nothing but to ride home. Pretty sweet, huh?

Hiya, Val. Best wishes on your journey. I did something similar back in 1978 -- rode solo from Wichita, KS to our little hillbilly hometown in TN. It was around 1000 miles, about the same as your trip.
You're getting to see MUCH more pretty sites than I did, however. Way cool!!!
Here's a tip: Ya can find local colleges that have gyms, and just walk into their locker rooms and take a shower like you belong there. I did this over and over on my trip, and no one ever said a word!
The trip was a blast, and I met a lot of great folks. Be careful on the road, though. The lagging side of the bell curve has some real fruits who've taken up residence. See ya!
